Wolves Sporting Community continued their irresistible charge towards the league title with a compelling 4-0 win at third from bottom Pegasus Juniors.

Great Wyrley based Sporting took the lead when Alex Moore drilled home direct from a 20 yard free kick.

Further goals followed from Dimitri Dunkley, Jon Letford and  Tom Hill who has now hit 38 league goals this season and is  locked in a battle with Wolves Casuals marksman Liam Hughes to finish as the leading goalscorer.

Sporting’s margin of victory would been far greater but Pegasus goalkeeper Stuart Turpin pulled off a string of top class saves to prevent the Hereford side from suffering a heavier defeat.

The battle behind Sporting saw Black Country Rangers and Malvern Town continue to share second place, but both remain nine points adrift with games running out.

Black Country were given a real battle by in-form Wednesfield who have risen to fourth place.

Goals from Daniel Forrest and Matt Vaughan appeared to put Black Country in control at half time only for Wednesfield to fight back and level through a brace of Josh Jones goals.

Black Country finally bagged the points with a last gasp stoppage time winner from Aiden Hughes which stretches their unbeaten sequence to 16 games.

Malvern were also made to fight before completing a 3-1 win at Cradley Town.

Josh Hunt headed Malvern in front following a pin-point Lewis Loader cross only for Aaron Westwood to level matters before half time after being set up by Josh McKenzie.

Substitute Matt Turner restored Malvern’s lead in the second half when converting Sam Rathbone’s cross before Loader sealed victory when scoring direct from a free kick.

The surprise result of the day saw 10 men Dudley Town hold Tividale to a 2-2 draw.

Alex Cameron converted from the penalty spot to put Dudley Town in front before they had Nathan Owen dismissed for a dangerous tackle.

But that didn’t stop Dudley from increasing the lead before half time through Ryan Bridgewater.

Darragh Bustin pulled a goal back for Tividale who then piled on the pressure but could only manage one more goal through Dimitri Brown’s equaliser.

Ellesmere Rangers remain well placed for a top six finish after they pulled off a 2-0 win over Bewdley Town who began the game ahead of them in the league table.

Harry Morris rifled Ellesmere into an early lead before Anwar Olugbon bagged a decisive second goal.

Smethwick Rangers improved their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over AFC Bridgnorth while Shifnal Town’s prospects suffered a setback following a 2-0 reverse with Wellington.

Rock bottom Wellington Amateurs live to fight another day after they pulled off a prized 3-1 win at Stone Old Alleynians, who sink back towards the drop zone as a result.

Goals from Ryan Bradshaw, Will Sneddon and Lewis Shaw gave the Shropshire side a 3-0 lead by half time before Connor Leek replied with a second half consolation.
