LUKE Paskin is relishing the chance to continue Tividale’s recent good form against struggling Stocksbridge Park Steels at The Beeches on Saturday (KO 15:00).

Paskin, who was due to be rested in Tuesday’s postponed JW Hunt Cup tie with Sporting Khalsa will be back in contention at the weekend having already made 32 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

And the 27 year old believes Tivi are only one win away from securing their Evo-Stik Northern League Division One South status for another year.

He said “Our points tally is excellent given this is our first year at this level for the time of season.

“If you look at this league in recent years, 37 points is usually enough to keep you up and we’re only three points away from that total.

“Once we’ve hit 37 to 40 points we can really push on, play our football and try to finish as high as we possibly can.”

But Paskin, currently in his second spell at The Beeches has warned that Stocksbridge will prove to be a tough game on Saturday.

“I recall the game at their place back in October and I thought they were very good, particularly in the first half.

“They opened the scoring and Charlie made some decent saves to keep us in the game before we managed to settle down and take a point.

“It’s going to be tough but we’re in good form and we have to believe we can take all three points.”

Paskin is also full of praise for teammate and defensive partner, Richard Huckfield, who was named Dudley News’ Sports Personality of the Year for 2014 earlier this week.

He added “Rich is top class.

“He’s a great captain and myself, Rich, Parso (Andy Parsons) and Smithy (Mark Smith) push each other.

“As for the award, he deserves it.

“Having said that, I think Ian Long (Manager), Leon (Football General Manager) and Steven (Head of Communications) have been giving him some stick by saying his wife, Danielle, should pick up the award for being his campaign manager!!!!”
