Tividale Football Club are delighted to confirm that striker Deqwon Ebanks will remain with the club following lengthy talks with Manager Ian Long and Richard Colwell late on Thursday evening.
A club statement reads:
“We are delighted that Deqwon Ebanks has decided to remain here at The Beeches following events of the past 48 hours.
“On Wednesday, Southern League Premier Division club, Banbury United, announced on their official website that Deqwon had signed for them on a dual registration agreement.
“Although we recognise that other clubs are invariably able to take an interest in our players, we also wish for standard protocol to be followed when these instances occur, out of common courtesy.
“We believe that Banbury United Football Club held talks with Deqwon Ebanks without being granted permission; retrospectively sending seven days notice via email as an afterthought.
“Tividale Football Club are extremely disappointed by their actions and will be making the County FA aware of the dialogue between all parties concerned with regards to illegal approach under Rule E1(b) in due course.
“On a positive note, Deqwon Ebanks is available for selection for tomorrow’s game with Stocksbridge Park Steels.
“Tividale Football Club will be making no further comment regarding this matter.”
End of Statement.
