Goood Morning and welcome to this week’s edition of From Communications Corner!

First and foremost, our first team continue their pre-season schedule this evening against Willenhall Town at Bilston, and then we face Bilston Town on Saturday.

We picked up another victory on Saturday at Studley against Hampton, but I know that Ross and Phil were far from pleased with the performance of our players, particularly in the first half, and they were made fully aware of that.

Although friendlies do tend to lack intensity, I personally felt we were looking lethargic and didn’t really show the intensity and ball retention that we had shown in the opening two games against Bedworth and Heath Hayes respectively.

We’re all looking forward to the season starting now and we will be making an announcement tomorrow on tividalefc.com regarding another addition to the squad, so keep an eye out for that.

Off the field and not a great deal to report, really, and it’s been a quiet week. I’d like to thank Cllr Maria Crompton for her assistance last week with some work that was carried out at The Beeches at very short notice, it’s much appreciated.

We had a great night on Saturday with Luke Hatton, he’s a terrific guitarist, and we had a great crowd in the social club on the night as a result.

Tividale Football & Social Club are always looking for the best entertainment we can attract and Luke is up there with the very best.

Finally, you may recall last week that Treasurer Mr. Richard Harrison drenched himself when watering the hanging basket on the smoking shelter.

Anyway, there’s another ‘Harrison classic’ for the book of ridiculousness, I’m pleased to report……..

Here we are in the smoking shelter and Rich said “Steve/Sal, I was at Tipton on Tuesday night, and I said to Liz it’s a bit dark to be playing football with no floodlights on.”

Then he realised he had his sunglasses on……pfffft!

I’m off, and we’ll have more from the Richard Harrison Roll of Honour this time next week on tividalefc.com.

See you at the bar, Submariners!

Steven.
