AARON O’Neill and Jacob Barnes have completed deals for Tividale ahead of the new campaign, becoming Dale’s sixth and seventh signings of the summer respectively.
Midfielder O’Neill (pictured) played alongside Shaq Whittingham at Romulus and worked with Joint Manager Ross Thorpe at Sutton Coldfield Town, and the former Alvechurch boss is pleased to have secured his services for the coming season.
“I’m delighted that Aaron has decided to join us, he’s an excellent young footballer who will add to the competition for places in the midfield area of the pitch.”
Central defender Barnes joins from Paget Rangers, and scooped several end of season awards following his performances in the 2014-15 campaign.
And Tivi’s Joint Manager Phil Male is happy to have Barnes on board ahead of the season opener against Shaw Lane Aquaforce on August 15th.
“I’m really pleased that we’ve managed to sign Jacob,” said Male.
“Jacob is a good defender, and he’s the type centre half I like having played in the position myself. He still has a lot to learn but he has all the ingredients to be an excellent player in the future.
“We’ve a mixture of experience and youth here and the squad is now taking shape very nicely from both mine and Ross’s (Thorpe) perspective.”
