IAN Long feels Dale deserved all three points following their 1-1 draw against Spalding United at The Beeches last night.

Karl Edwards scored his 21st goal of the season to ensure that Tivi’s unbeaten run stretched to twelve games in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, Division One South.

And the former Tipton boss praised his players attitude having gone a goal down midday through the first period.

He said “I thought we were the better side overall, and a point was the very least we deserved on the night.

“Like on Saturday at Gresley, we gave away an extremely sloppy goal and that always gives you a mountain to climb thereafter.

“Having said that, I thought the lads were having their best spell of the first half when Spalding opened the scoring so that was disappointing.

“But the overall performance was excellent, and we were very, very good in the second half and I think we could have nicked it in the closing stages.

“That’s now twelve games without defeat in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, Division One South and that’s no mean feat given some of the opposition we’ve come up against.

“If we stick together, and our appeal is upheld, I think we have every opportunity of pushing for the top five next season.”
