Despite holding a seemingly comfortable 3-1 lead mid-way through the second half, Tividale allowed the home side back in to claim a deserved draw. Jazz Luckie’s first and second goals for ‘Dale gave them that 3-1 lead, along with another that will be the subject of a discussion over a beer or two. I suspect Richard Huckfield may claim loudest.
That lead was wiped out by two Kevin Renshaw goals however, with a world class finish reducing the scores to 3-2 before a speculative free-kick pierced the middle of a shoddy Tividale 4-man wall, catching a deflection on the way that totally wrong-footed Tom Turner in the ‘Dale goal.
The replay will be held at The Beeches on Tuesday September 2nd.
