Stuart Scriven

Tividale FC have today reluctantly accepted the resignation of joint-manager Stuart Scriven.

After being assistant manager to Dean Whitehouse at The Beeches, ‘Scriv’ (pictured) adopted the role of caretaker manager when Whitehouse sadly left in the 2012-13 season because of family illness. After leading the club to a creditable 8th position in the Midland Alliance in that campaign, Scriv was rewarded with the position of first team manager.

His first move was to appoint Ian Long as joint manager – a decision which proved to be a stroke of genius, as the pair’s knowledge bases dovetailed perfectly. Together with first-team coach Richard Colwell and goalkeeping coach Chris Walwyn, the Scriven-Long duo led Tividale to its most successful season in our 60 year history, as we collected the Midland Football Alliance league championship, won promotion to the Evo-Stik League, and also won the coveted and historic J.W. Hunt Cup – the final held at Molineux.

With growing work commitments and the demands of a young family though, Stuart has decided to retire on a high and with the club in good hands. Scriv is a Tivi FC man through and through, and all of us here at Tividale would like to thank him for the huge contributions he has made both on and off the pitch in his six years, and look forward to sharing a beer with him here at The Beeches when he visits with the beautiful ladies in his life – partner Ruth and young daughter Isla.

We are delighted that Ian Long has accepted the offer to continue in his role as first team manager, with Richard Colwell and Chris Walwyn remaining in their respective coaching positions as the club looks forward to its first ever season in Step 4 football.

Cheers Scriv! Yours was a double!
