Tividale FC 0-3 Boldmere St Michaels FC
Tividale sins punished by Saints![]()
With Boldmere also fighting relegation. The three points that they took away from The Beeches will not come any easier this season. As once again when the game called for Tividale to dig deep and battle they came up short.
Boldmere were nearly gifted a goal after just 8 minutes when the home defence decided to let a ball pumped deep into their half drop and Boldmere’s Alex Forde made the most of it rounded Tividale keeper Luke Kriskinans but his shot was blocked on the line by Tividale’s Freddie Watts. Tividale had a great chance on 17 minutes when debutant James Douglas played in Nathan Jones but the Tividale wide man fired wide. Then a minute later Dan Smith had a chance when a poor clearance from Boldmere keeper Lewis Feiney fell to him but he shot straight into the keepers arms.
There then came a spell of Boldmere pressure. First in the 19th minute a Ben Usher-Shipway shot was deflected for a corner. From the corner Tividale failed to get any distance on the clearance and Usher-Shipway again had a chance but fired wide. The visitors took the lead on 23 minutes when Usher-Shipway was given free passage to the Tividale by line and he cut the ball back for Stuart Capaldi to pass it into an empty net.
Tividale had a great chance to level when a Nathalys Joao shot rattled the crossbar on 31 minutes after a neat build up. But two minutes later they were 2-0 down when Kriskinans failed to claim a hopeful ball into the box and Joe Smith nodded the ball home. It could have got worse on the stroke of half time when Capaldi was almost through but Kriskinans was sharply out and cleared the danger.

The home side started the second period much better and on 52 minutes Jones was denied by Feiney after good work from Darragh Bustin. Then Smith saw his shot go wide of Feiney’s post. On the hour Joe Lyng tried a lob from about 35 yards that cleared the Tividale bar, then Capaldi fired over a rebound when his initial shot was blocked. Capaldi then had a shot blocked by Kriskinans and on 70 minutes Kriskinans then pulled off a fine save to deny Capaldi again.
Boldmere wrapped up the points in the 75th minute when Cameron Shaw was allowed to run at the heart of the Tividale defence and then fired home from the edge of the area. Tividale had a couple of chances for a consolation goal. First a Bustin header from a Lewis Probert cross was comfortably saved by Feiney and a Charles Wilson shot was turned around the post by Feiney and from the resulting corner Wilson fired over the bar.
