Tividale 2-2 Dudley Town
(3-0 on penalties)

Lewis Hands it to Tividale

Tividale came away victorious in this replayed Premier league cup tie but not before Dudley Town had battled all the way for 120 minutes but after all that they had to be disappointed in the ending.

Tividale had to bring in youth team keeper Lewis Handley for the unavailable Ryan Cheshire also Harvey Walker came in for Lee Smith and with Dan Smith suspended and Alex Cameron ineligible Darragh Bustin partnered Demetri Brown in attack.

It was Dudley Town who made the early running and Lewis Worsey had a great chance on 10 minutes when he latched onto a Jordan Davies pass but his snapshot flashed the wrong side of the post with Handley rooted to the spot. Handley was then on hand to touch a Chris Rabone effort wide. Tividale had their first effort on 17 minutes when a Brad Welding shot from a Bustin long throw was deflected wide and a couple of minutes later Bustin played in Curtis Cocking but he failed to hit the target.

Worsey had another good chance on 23 minutes but again his shot went wide.  Then Reece Shilvock found Bustin with a superb through ball but the striker’s chip although cleared Dudley keeper Shane Maydew it also went wide of the post. Maydew was into the action on 32 minutes when he saved from Brown but from the resulting Welding corner Shilvock headed home to put Tividale ahead.

On the stroke of half time Tom Hurdman made his way into the Dudley penalty area but his shot lacked the power to trouble Maydew .

Half-Time:-Tividale 2-0 Dudley Town

.

It was 23 minutes into the second half before the first threat on goal came when after a Tividale mix up in their defence Emil Fedotovs was on hand to cash in lobbing the ball over Handley and into the back of the net. Dudley were level for only 3 minutes when Welding played the ball across to Cocking on the edge of the Dudley penalty area and he drilled the ball past Maydew and into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Tividale could have put the game to bed with a Bustin free kick on 80 minutes but Maydew saved well.

As the game moved well into injury time there came a bizarre set of events. From a Dudley corner after Handley had turned a Dudley effort around the post. Maydew went up for it as Dudley packed the Tividale box. The referee then blew the whistle holding up the corner and he showed Maydew a red card for an off the ball incident. When they did take the corner, Handley failed to collect the ball and Fedotovs got the final touch at the back post and sent the game into extra time.

Full-Time:-Tividale 2-2 Dudley Town

.

Dudley put on substitute keeper Joel Irvine for extra time and he was soon in action.  Tividale had the chance to go ahead in the 96th minute to win the game when from a Dudley handball in the area Bustin stepped up but Irvine guessed right and palmed the spot kick away. For all the Tividale possession they just could not get the winning goal as Dudley defended brilliantly
