Dudley Town 2-2 Tividale

Tivi tamed by ten man Town

 
Tividale were just not at the races in this game and hopefully it was the 17 day break that had an effect on the performance. But take nothing away from Dudley Town, with Paul Henley marshalling their young side brilliantly.

Dudley had taken a two goal lead in the first half, the first from the spot after Tividale’s Lee Smith had committed a foul in the penalty area. Alex Cameron made no mistake from the spot. Dudley then had Nathan Owen dismissed for a dangerous tackle but still went 2-0 up on the half hour mark. This time through a lovely free-kick from Ryan Bridgewater.

Tividale did strike back and halved the deficit on 40 minutes when Darragh Bustin’s crisp low shot could only be parried by Town keeper Shayne Mayhew but it fell nicely for Bustin who hammered home the rebound.

Tividale were much improved in the second half but they never really built up enough sustained pressure to worry the Town defence and Henley and keeper Mayhew were fairly dominant. Tividale did equalise on 75 minutes when Demetri Brown’s turn of pace took him past the now tiring Town defence and he finished clinically. But even though the visitors dominated the possession they fell short in front of goal and Town held on for a well deserved point
