RICHARD Huckfield believes Tividale have what it takes to win the Walsall Senior Cup after last night’s victory over Sutton Coldfield Town at The Beeches.

Huckfield has been missing for the large part of this season but played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 competition last season. win and thinks ‘Dale can go all the way with a trip to Romulus in Round Three awaiting Ian Long’s side.

He said “It was a great win for us and there’s no reason why we can’t replicate the run we had in this this competition last season.

“We didn’t manage to see it through last year for reasons we all know about but I think we can go all the way this time around.”

And the 30 year old says the win was particularly impressive given Sutton’s current League form.

“It was always going to be tough against Sutton as they’re having a great season so far but they started slowly and we took full advantage of that with two early goals.

“Nige and Jordan gave us a platform to build on with their goals.

“Archer was terrific all night.”

On a personal level, the former Tipton defender is looking forward to being available regularly once again and enjoyed a recent loan spell with Sporting Khalsa where he managed to get meaningful game time under his belt.

“It’s a very important time of the football calendar and it’s good to be back and available having been missing for the large part so far this season.

“I played Saturday at Drayton, 90 minutes again last night and the recent game at Khalsa when the gaffer decided to send me out on loan to get match fit.

“I’m looking forward to battling it out with Smithy and Luke for a place in the team and competition is healthy for all of us.”
