Helloooo treacles! You well? What’s occurring?

Been a quiet week, has it not?

But last weekend was great and epitomised exactly what Tividale Football & Social Club is all about.

Firstly, our trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels on Saturday was great, and is undoubtedly my favourite away trip in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, First Division South.

The club is fantastic, the people are great and it’s very picturesque.

The journey to Yorkshire was dominated by one man. Yes, you guessed it…..’Big Steve’.

He’s Tivi’s newest fan, and he’s made several trips with us on the road this season. We’d hardly even got onto Trafalgar Rd when he started his first chant of the day: “Where’s the fans to wave us off?”…..

Then, when we were driving through Stocksbridge, everyone was talking about how the place resembles Emmerdale.

Cue ‘Big Steve’, who started loudly humming the Coronation Street intro….priceless!

On the pitch, I thought we were terrific on Saturday. Our ball retention was much, much better and we had a number of chances in front of goal. It was disappointing not to win but we go again on Saturday at Loughborough Dynamo.

Loughborough will be a difficult place to go but if we show the same quality as on Saturday at Park Steels, we will give ourselves a great opportunity of winning the game.

So to Sunday, and Walking Football! What a scream!

I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, as did everyone, to be fair. It was strange to begin with. I’d like to thank our first team Joint Manager Phil Male for taking the time to attend the afternoon, too. He was ‘man marking’ me, and he gave me a few kicks!

Then I mentioned getting myself back fit and playing again, to which Spiller said: “Why don’t you come and have a race against Demetri Brown on Tuesday night?”

Let’s just say I had a WhatsApp message off of Phil yesterday lunchtime, saying: “Demetri was waiting for you last night.”

Yes, you guessed correctly, I didn’t show up!….

The afternoon was to raise money for charity and thank you to everybody who took part. ‘Ow about ‘The Cat’, by the way? Clive Billingham still has it between the sticks, doesn’t he? Kevin Pegg and Mr.Harrison had their own ‘love in’ midway through the first half of the final.

That’s before Mr. Harrison, just as we’d conceded our third goal, shouted: “Come on lads let’s sort it out!”

Away form the field, keep an eye on the notice boards in the club for the upcoming Saturday evening Entertainment.
