Hello and welcome to this week’s From Communications Corner!, which is a new Management Team edition.

First and foremost, I’d like you to join me in welcoming both Phil Male and Ross Thorpe to Tividale Football Club, and I’d like to think we’ve a successful season in store for you all.

Myself and Leon met with Phil and Ross last Wednesday night, and we were extremely impressed with what they had to say.

Like I said last week, we had a number of excellent candidates to choose from but I think solely from a footballing point of view, Phil and Ross were the stand out candidates.

Their delivery in the interview process was very impressive, they have both either played or coached at EVO-STIK Northern Premier League level, and that was an extremely important part of the managerial search.

Phil is a local lad, he knows the area and Tividale Football & Social Club inside and out; the response we’ve had as a club from the locals here in Tividale has been phenomenal – that’s just how popular ‘Spiller’ actually is.

I’d like to think the local connection, together with Phil’s undoubted football knowledge will lead to a strong relationship between Tividale residents and Tividale Football Club as we move forward, too.

As for Ross, he’s a good lad. He’s extremely knowledgeable and he’s been in and around Non-League football in the Midlands for over a decade.

Ross is very meticulous, knows what he wants from his team, both individually and collectively.

Again, Ross is a very popular guy, and at 33 has a massive future ahead of him in football management, there’s no doubting that.

Both Phil and Ross have been working tirelessly this week on the phone to potential targets, starting to prepare for pre-season.

They’re looking forward to the challenge, and I hope you can come down in the new season to get behind the team in what will be our second year in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, Division One South.

This coming Saturday, May 30th is the 2014-15 presentation night (19:30) and you can find all the details on tividalefc.com.

It will be my first ever first team presentation night at Tividale and I’m really looking forward to celebrating not just the successful season that’s just concluded, but the overall development of this football club over the course of the past five years.

Following the presentation, vocalist Dave Johnson takes to the stage as ‘TIVIDALE PRESENTS’. He’s a great guy, great singer, and I’ve no doubt he will conclude the evening in style.

Right, I’m off to write a few lines for the weekend!

See you at the presentation (the bar!!), Submariners!

Steven.
