Welcome to this week’s somewhat quiet edition of From Communications Corner!

Novelties do happen!

From a football perspective, we’re working very hard on attracting new sponsorship to the club, as you probably will have seen on tividalefc.com and the local media over the past 48 hours.

We openly accept that we’ve been ‘slack’ over the years where sponsorship is concerned, and it’s something we’re working hard on to improve on a daily basis.

I totally accept that time is running out, but that doesn’t mean to say I, or the team here will give up on sealing sponsorship deals ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.

I don’t like making excuses, but I do think we’ve had hurdles to cross that we never foreseen. We effectively lost four, maybe five weeks of pressing for new sponsorship deals due to the Ground Grading situation, and that’s really put a dent into the schedule that I’d drawn up.

People may say “Well why does that make a difference?” Here’s the answer to that –

There is a massive gulf in expenditure between Step 5 and Step 4 football, and Leon Murray mentioned that in his interview with the local media, too.

You can’t agree on figures, or even realistically name a given figure to replicate the level you’re playing at until you know for certain, and we didn’t know for certain until April 24th – that is very very late in the day from a commercial perspective.

I’m still talking with interested parties every day, and I’m very hopeful of getting a significant deal over the line.

On the pitch, and our JW Hunt Cup Final date with Stone Old Alleynians has been scheduled for Thursday, May 21st.

Tickets for the fixture can be purchased in advance for £4 at Tividale Football & Social Club, and you’re able to pay £5 on the night at the turnstiles at Molineux.

I can confirm there are no concession prices for this fixture.

Away from football, and we’re still putting together the final plans for our Tividale Summer Festival on Saturday, June 27th.

The full details of the event will be coming your way soon on tividalefc.com, @TiviFCofficial and our Facebook page.

Finally, do you like a chat and a morning coffee?

Coffee Morning takes place at Tividale Football & Social Club every Tuesday between 09:30 and 11:00 with free hot drinks and Bacon/Sausage sandwiches also available to purchase.

This is in aid of “Team Max”, which is a group of friends who’re raising money to help Maxine Smith, who’s suffering with terminal cancer.

Any donations are welcome.

In fact, please come down – our very own Julia Sorrow (Part of Team Max) is on hand to make you a coffee!

Be nice to see ‘Jules’ with the kettle in her hand – first time for everything! 🙂

See you at the Bar, Submariners!

Steven.
