MIDFIELD ace David Bellis has called on his Tividale teammates to continue their recent good away form when they travel to Staffordshire to face Leek Town this weekend.

‘Dale were left empty handed once again on Tuesday night as Ian Long’s side crashed to another home defeat and the 23 year old believes playing away from home may be a blessing in disguise.

Bellis said “We’re struggling at The Beeches for some reason so far this season, which is strange given our record in the Midland Football Alliance last year.

“Our recent results on the road at Sheffield, Kidsgrove and Rainworth have been impressive and hopefully that will continue tomorrow.”

Boss Ian Long has bemoaned Tivi’s creativity in the final third of the field over recent weeks and Bellis believes that it’s only a matter of time before the goals start flowing again at The Beeches.

“It’s very frustrating. We had so much of the ball against Stafford Rangers on Tuesday, particularly in the first half and we never managed to get the all important goal.

“We had a number of set-piece opportunities aside from our good open play but we need to start making the opposing goalkeeper’s work much harder than they currently are.”
