Tividale no longer in the hunt

For the second time in 10 days and on a gloomy and miserable night Tividale succumbed to a title chasing Alvechurch squad. This was a Alvechurch side that had 9 changes to the side that played at the weekend and a testament to the strength in depth that nearly all teams at this level could only dream about. Tividale themselves gave a debut to new signing Chris Hill and he did a fine job in the middle of the park.

Alvechurch galloped into a two goal lead in the first 19 minutes. First in the 5th minute Ryun Edmunds played in Joshua Sarmento and with the home defence appealing for off side he calmly steered the ball past the helpless Luke Kriskinans. On 19 minutes it was two when Jack Cresswell hit a 30 yard effort that dipped and beat Kriskinans at his near post.

The rest of the game was really a nonentity with Alvechurch unable to get up a head of steam due to Tividale’s dogged defensive work and the visitors themselves causing a few problems. But in the end it was Alvechurch who progressed into the next round.
