AFC Wulfrunians 0-0 Tividale FC

Tividale gain a point for a clean sheet

Tividale were far from their best as they came away from the Castlecroft home of relegation rivals AFC Wulfrunians with a point and a first league clean sheet.

Wulf’s started the first half the better and had the first chance on 5 minutes when Kyle Brady turned his marker but his shot was saved by Tividale keeper Luke Kriskinans. Dan Smith had Tividale’s first chance in the 10th minute when he was put through but his shot was deflected wide for a corner.  Wulf’s Joel Caines then did well beating two defenders but his shot could not find the target. Brady again beat the Tividale back line with a through ball but again Kriskinans saved well.  After half hour and Wulf’s had another chance this time Tom Ray heading a Webb free kick over the bar.

Tividale seemed to start the second period with a sense of purpose but it was Wulf’s who threatened again in the 57th minute when a Brady free kick was headed back from the far post by Ray to Demetri Brown but he made a mess of his header and it went well wide.

Tividale’s next threatened on the hour when Darragh Bustin cut in from the left but his shot went over the bar. Brown then showed his turn of speed when he outpaced the Tividale defence but his touch was to heavy and Kriskinans collected at the edge of his area. Webb then struck the crossbar with a free kick and Craig Stevens tried a long range effort that flew wide.

The best chance of the game came to Wulf’s with 5 minutes to go when from a Craig Gregg, Brady headed against the post. But neither side could break the deadlock and the points were shared.
