DALE’s Under 12’s Academy team completed a sponsored bike ride on Saturday, October 24th, raising in the region of £800.00 in the process.

The Midland Junior Premier League outfit did 8km around Edgbaston Reservoir, and the team plan to raise enough money to go on tour in Prestatyn, Wales next April.

Wayne Derrick’s side won three summer tournaments and have enjoyed a very good start to the league campaign, taking 13 points from their opening seven games.

Lee Ellam (Coach) praised all concerned following the bike ride, saying: “Togetherness is the most important thing for me, the management, the players and of course the parents of those players.

“Myself and Derrick are delighted that we managed to raise the amount of money that we did. We want the players to be able to enjoy themselves, as well as trying to win football matches.

“I’m very hopeful that we will be able to take the team to Prestatyn at the end of next April. Events like those help the camaraderie within the collective group.

“We have had a good start to the season and let’s hope that run of form continues in the coming games.”
