How do!, we’re here again! Is it me or doesn’t time fly by quicker now than ever? Only feels like two days since my last edition of From Communications Corner!
Well, we are now nine days away from the opening game of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, Division One South season, and I can’t wait for our home fixture with Shaw Lane Aquaforce.
Obviously it was a little disappointing to lose at Gornal on Tuesday night but we have a really tough test on Saturday at Halesowen Town, and I know that Ross Thorpe and Phil Male are looking forward to the challenge.
The game will be beneficial for more reasons than one, particularly for some of our new players who’re playing at this level of football for the very first time.
The Grove is a very good Step 4 ground, they get very good attendances and had a great first season back in the Premier Division last year. John Hill has done a sterling job there over the past two-and-a-half years.
But we need to get our preparations for the Shaw Lane game right and a positive result and performance this weekend will give us a bit of confidence the following weekend.
Keep and eye out for Captain’s Corner, by the way. Craig Milligan will be writing a weekly blog on the dressing room antics, jokes, pranks and sometimes serious stuff, too. Hang on. ‘Milli’ being serious? Not so sure 🙂
Season tickets remain on sale right here on tividalefc.com, and thanks to everyone who has purchased one so far. I look forward to seeing you at The Beeches this season.
Off the field, well, there’s not a great deal to report, really.
Interim Chairman Dave Evans drinking Red Bull at 11:55am on Sunday morning was quite entertaining, mind. He’d had an heavy night in Wednesbury on Saturday and he wasn’t feeling the best. Poor Dave!
Back to football in some respects, did anybody see the picture of Steve Wood and John Goudge modelling our new kits on Sunday? Good grief!
Bernie had feedback from various sources, as did I. Let’s just say I will definitely ensure we bring in the models next summer – can’t stomach that again 🙂
Oh and I’m sure you’ve all been eagerly awaiting this week’s update on the Richard Harrison ‘Roll of Honourrrr’…
He’s not done anything ridiculous this week, unfortunately, he’s too busy trying to keep Liz in check and ensuring she doesn’t spend thousands of pounds on those white tiles she’d like up in the dressing rooms!
See you at the bar, Submariners!
Steven.
