Are you bored yet? No, not of this but life without football?…It’s driving me crackers!

Having said that, it’s good to sit down and talk about the future and analyse where the club needs to improve and highlight specific areas we can work on as a collective group.

This is my first active pre-season here at Tividale, and I think it’s fair to say that it will be very important that we work hard together to get things right ahead of the 2015-16 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, Division One South campaign.

I’ve been really impressed with Ross Thorpe and Phil Male in the early stages of their tenure here. They’ve been very respectful and they’re not in the mood to press the panic button at all.

Quite right, too.

We’ve a lot of good people working at this football club, people who want the club to continue moving in the right directions and it’s our job to ensure that Ross and Phil feel that they’re been given the support that they are going to need this summer.

I have to say that they’ve been a pleasure to deal with so far, and that’s no more than I expected.

Both are very capable, respected individuals in Non-League and I’m more than confident that by the time pre-season starts, there will be a very positive outlook going into the new season.

We’re still working extremely hard regarding sponsorship, and I’m talking with interested parties all the time. It’s a case of sealing the right deal.

I’m not about to jump in at the first opportunity – I’ve said that before. That’s not the way good businesses operate.

We will get there, I’m sure of it. Yes, I totally accept that we’re playing catch-up in certain areas but that’s not a new thing. It’s a long standing issue that we’re trying to address – it won’t all turn out fine overnight.

Hard work pays dividends, I’ve said that many, many times, and I know that both Ross and Phil 100% agree with the strategy I’ve put in place regarding our Marketing drive.

There has been work taking place on the playing surface here this week and we’re looking forward to having a Bowling Green to start playing on come August 🙂 Well done to Ted, Sam and the team this week with that. Good work, chaps!

Away from football, and ‘TIVIDALE PRESENTS’ The Rollers this weekend in the social club from 20:00, so I look forward to seeing you here for that.

Also, myself and Richard Harrison will be finalising the plans for the Tividale Summer Festival later today and I’ll bring you full details regarding that event next week on From Communications Corner!

Finally, and I was told by the lady herself that I needed to mention this, but Julia Sorrow has finally made me my long awaited Coffee.

I was in attendance to the Coffee Morning on Tuesday, and ‘Jules’ even made me a Bacon Sarnie, too. Bless her soul 🙂

See you at the bar, Submariners!

Steven.
