IAN Long was disappointed with his Tivi players on Saturday as their 2014-15 Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, Division One South campaign ended in defeat to Market Drayton Town at The Beeches.

Scott Ryan bagged the solitary goal of the afternoon for The Gingerbread Men in the opening period with Dale guilty of missing several gilt edged opportunities to level the score.

And Long, who’s side now prepare for Thursday’s JW Hunt Cup Semi-Final tie with Alvechurch felt his players let themselves down in what was their first defeat in thirteen league games.

He said “I’m not happy with them – they didn’t take the game seriously.

“Their attitude has been spot on throughout the year but they let me down on Saturday, and I made them aware of that.

“Couple their attitude with some pretty woeful finishing, and that cost us the points on the day. It would have been nice to finish the season unbeaten in thirteen but it wasn’t to be.

“We need to put it behind us and look ahead to Thursday. My job is a lot easier for Thursday because not one of them can have any complaints if they’re left out of the starting eleven.”
