DAVID Bellis admits Tividale owe their management team and supporters a performance following Saturday’s disappointing overall display in the 2-0 victory against bottom of the table Brigg Town at The Beeches.

Tivi boss Ian Long was critical of his players’ tempo after the game when speaking with @TiviFCofficial and Bellis, who replaced Sam Williams ten minutes into the second half agrees that the intensity of Dale’s play wasn’t up to their usual standard.

“I would agree with the manager, and it wasn’t the greatest performance by our own admission.

“Some will say “you won the game and got the three points, so what’s the problem?” but when people are paying good money to come and see us play I’m sure they expect to see the ball moved around the field at a much quicker tempo than they witnessed on Saturday, particularly in the second period.

“We started the game very well in the opening 15-20 minutes but faded very quickly afterwards and we will be looking to put a much better performance on show to the supporters and the coaching staff next Saturday against Stocksbridge.

“We’re ninth in the table and we want to finish strongly. A large proportion of our remaining games are at home and both myself and the rest of the lads want to give the fans something to shout about between now and the end of April in terms of our League position.”
