Where do you weigh a pie?
Oh no, I can’t do that you all again…
I’m pleased to report that the level of humour has increased at Tividale Football & Social Club over the past seven days since Mr. Leon Murray’s Tividale ‘Hall of Fame’ moment last Wednesday evening.
Right, so what do we have on the agenda this week?
Well, first and foremost, give a round of applause (from wherever you’re reading this) to Rebecca Dudley & Lucy Taylor for both of their recent charity hair cuts.
As you’re probably aware, Rebecca was raising cash for Myeloma UK and Lucy was raising funds for The Little Princess Trust to support family friend and Tividale Football & Social Club member, Jayne Gallagher.
Photographs from both of those charity events can be found on tividalefc.com which have been uploaded to the Flickr Gallery.
Ok, to the football.
Well, what can I say?
Well done to all the volunteers who helped with the 40 tonne of concrete work on Saturday, you’ve done an absolutely fantastic job for the Club as we aim to pass our ground grading at the end of this month. Tividale Football & Social Club really appreciate your time and hard work at the weekend – I hope you’re not planning on putting any claims in for stricken backs etc 🙂
There is still work to do around several areas of the stadium but we’re hopeful of concluding those works in the very near future.
On the pitch, we managed to get another win under our belts in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, Division One South at Brigg on Saturday.
But, on the flip side, we were knocked out of the Walsall Senior Cup on Tuesday night at the expense of Chasetown, who I was very impressed with on the night.
Marcus Law has done a very good job at Chasetown since his arrival and they’re the form team of our division. We saw plenty of the ball, mind. The difference was taking chances and The Scholars were very clinical in front of goal on the night.
As you may have seen on our @TiviFCofficial last night and this morning, we’re making an official statement regarding Tividale Academy at 12:00.
I’m really excited about the way our Academy is evolving and todays announcement will only back up that claim, particularly from a commercial point of view.
Right, I’m saying nothing more. Lips sealed, Steven? Yes? Ok.
Back in the social club and this weekend sees Cover to Cover as our ‘TIVIDALE PRESENTS’ Entertainment on Saturday night from 20:00.
Finally, good luck to the Saddlers this coming Sunday in their Johnstone Paint Trophy Final at Wembley against Bristol City.
They’re certainly underdogs but hopefully the ‘Ginger Mourinho’ and his players will do the Black Country proud! You can see the game Live at Tividale Football & Social Club from 15:30 on Sky Sports.
See you at the bar, Submariners.
Steven.
