RICHARD Colwell insists Tividale are the underdogs even though they are playing at home when they entertain Chasetown in the Semi-Final of the Walsall Senior Cup tonight at The Beeches (KO 19:45).

Chasetown are the form team of the Evo-Stik Northern League, Division One South since the arrival of former Tamworth boss Marcus Law and The Scholars are the defending Champions of the Walsall Senior Cup having beaten Rushall Olympic at the Banks’s Stadium 12 months ago.

And former Stourport boss Colwell believes Chasetown are the favourites given their current league form.

He said “Chasetown have improved significantly since Marcus arrived and that’s no surprise. He’s an experienced manager and worked at a very high level when in charge of Tamworth.

“They are the form team of our Division and although this is a cup competition and the dynamic is different, they are still very much the favourites. We have had two good results in the League over the past week and hopefully that will continue tonight

“We all want to get to the Final of this competition and play at the Banks’s Stadium but we will have to pull off what I would deem to be a shock result if we’re to do that.

“Morale has very much changed at Chasetown since we played them here on New Year’s Day and they will be a different proposition, that’s for certain.”
