Welcome to our new weekly feature on @TiviFCofficial and tividalefc.com: From Communications Corner.

During the football season, there’s a notion that all concentration and focus is on your next game, and the game after that.

Wrong.

In reality, most of our discussions and meetings during the past fortnight at Tividale Football & Social Club ‘Towers’ have been looking ahead to the 2015-16 season – yes, it’s just around the corner in footballing terms!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the game over the years is that things never stop – there’s always something to discuss or analyse in one department or another within the football club.

In general, football is about evolution, rather than revolution. Fact.

I held a brief discussion with a current Barclays Premier League Manager last summer.

He said “It may be a cliché but if you stand still, you will definitely go backwards.”

Here at Tividale, the same applies; albeit at a lower level of football.

But the principles are the same. We are all working hard to ensure that we are ready for what will hopefully be our second consecutive season in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South next year.

Every department of the football club have to communicate in a way where we all know what we’re doing and where we are at ahead of the new season, even though it’s still mid February!!!

Each part of this club wants to evolve and although some days and nights can be stressful, it’s a pleasure to be involved.

Back on the field, it was a great victory at Romulus on Monday night in the Walsall Senior Cup and we’ve yet another Semi-Final we are all looking forward to.

As Ian Long alluded to, we were far from our best but the players showed their grit and determination once again and to win the penalty shoot-out in the end was great for us on the night. Victory also brought the team a third consecutive clean sheet in all competitions.

It’s always special when you’re drawn at home in any cup competition and the Walsall Senior Cup is no different. We now wait to find out whether we will play either Bolehall Swifts or Chasetown in the Semi-Final; knowing we’re potentially 90 minutes away from a night at the Banks’s Stadium on April 27th for the Final.

From a Social Media perspective, I’d like to place on record my sincere thanks to my colleague and our Head of Creativity, Caroline Wells, for working with myself since November and ‘Caz’ is now a familiar face to everyone at Tividale Football & Social Club, both on and off the pitch.

I’m sure you all know I can be a pain! 🙂 (Caz somehow manages to work alongside me!)

Caroline has been working tremendously hard on our Imagery for our official website and Matchday programme over the past few weeks, so well done on a fantastic effort!

We’ve also held the Tividale Academy Half-Term Soccer Camp this week and it’s been a terrific success.

Many thanks go to Julia Sorrow (Tividale Youth Academy Secretary) and Dave Simon for their hard work organising the event from the outset.

It’s great to connect Tividale Football & Social Club with the local community in such a positive way and I’m sure that we will be organising something similar for next Half-Term, so keep and eye on @TiviFCofficial, @tiviacademy and tividalefc.com for all the details.

Finally, we have some wonderful Entertainment as ‘Tividale Presents’ in the Social Club on Saturday night from 20:00.

‘CARLA’ returns to Tividale Football & Social Club by popular demand. I know Carla from years gone by and if you’ve never seen her perform before, then I strongly advise you to make an appearance.

See you at the bar, Submariners! 🙂

Steven.
