Following the midweek demolition of Stafford Rangers in the FA Cup, ‘Dale manager Ian Long warned his players about being drawn into an ‘After The Lord Mayor’s Show’ performance. It would appear that these things are easier said than done though, as the yellows turned in a lacklustre display at Coles Lane.
The game started well for Tividale as they dominated the first 20 minutes, but failure to turn that possession into goals cost the side dear later on, as Romulus grew into the game and deservedly opened up a 2-0 lead through James Reid and Rikardo Reid.
Tividale grabbed a last minute consolation through Jazz Luckie.
