Top of the table Tividale take a convincing 14 point lead into the New Year after crushing local rivals Cradley Town 6-0. There was little to choose between the sides during the first half as Cradley twice went close through Jerry Kooman and Dan Bell.
It took a penalty from dead ball specialist Darragh Bustin to separate the sides at half time after Lucas Muckley was judged to have brought down Dan Smith. Tividale took charge in the second half and soon increased their lead with an unstoppable Bradley Welding free kick. Demetri Brown and substitute Alex Cameron both converted twice, Brown taking his league tally to 26 in the process as Tivvy finished in full control.
Shrewsbury side Haughmond and Wolves Casuals remain locked together in second spot. Haughmond went one better than the league leaders as they put seven goals past Dudley Sports. Shrewsbury Town loanee Jack Leask led the way with a brace of goals while Scott Ryan struck two more. Steve Hole hit his 25th of the season while Aaron Simms and substitute Matt Fletcher completed the scoring spree.
Wolves Casuals clinched a 3-0 win over AFC Bridgnorth where Kieron Miller converted twice to remain the league’s leading marksman on 27 goals while Danny Green grabbed the third.
Black Country Rangers suffered a big setback when losing 3-0 at Hereford Lads Club.
That has enabled the chasing pack to close the gap with Malvern Town moving to within a point thanks to a 3-1 win over next-to-bottom side Wem Town. Harry Clark converted Steve Webb’s cross to put Malvern ahead but Wem hit back to level through Ben Astley. Jay Sauntson restored Malvern’s lead before Clark converted a second goal as Malvern remain fifth.
Bewdley Town battled back to bag a 3-1 win at Bilston Town Community. Delano Reid put the Steelmen in front after being put in the clear by Ryan Booth. Bewdley came storming back in the second half to level when Callum Martin bundled home Ollie Mulders free kick. Simon Rudd put Bewdley ahead with as brave header before Mulders picked out substitute Matt Kerby with a precise free kick to fire home a third goal.
Pegasus Juniors remain in deep peril at the bottom of the table after suffering a heavy 7-0 defeat at home to Shifnal Town who pull clear of the drop zone following this drubbing. Ryan Hadley and Ade Jones both hit home twice for the Shropshire side with Sam Wilde, Ben Novis and Jordan Bailey also scoring for Shifnal.
Pershore Town stay next-to-bottom after suffering a slender 1-0 setback at Smethwick Rangers while Wednesfield hit sorry Shawbury United for six and stay sixth.
