Tividale thumped sorry Shawbury United 6-0 to close the gap on early season leaders Black Country Rangers.
Dan Smith struck after just two minutes as Tivvy went onto sweep Shawbury aside in the first half to lead 5-0 by the break.
Smith went onto smack home a second goal while Demetri Brown also bagged a first half brace with Darragh Bustin despatching another goal on the half hour.
Shawbury tightened their defence after half time and restricted Tividale to just one more goal, courtesy of Tyree Clarke. Tividale have now cut Black Country’s lead down to two points after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Dudley Town.
Black Country had beaten Dudley Town only the previous week when they knocked them out of the FA Vase, but the Robins proved more robust second time around. Jake Healy and Liam Hughes hit home for Black Country but Dudley responded with goals from Chris Rabone and Ryan Bridgewater.
Wolves Casuals remain third after being held to a 3-3 draw by Bewdley Town. Kieran Miller converted twice for Casuals with Ben Podmore supplying their third.
Malvern Town moved closer to the leading trio with a 5-0 success at Dudley Sports. That was after Malvern were given a helping hand when Emile Beckford headed into his own net just before half time. Louis Loader lashed home a second two minutes into the second half when his 20 yard shot slipped through goalkeeper Liam O’Dowd’s fingers. Adam Sauntson and Ben Lane both bagged further goals before Josh Hunt headed home after Phil Harris picked out Matthew Turner with a wonderful ball, before crossing in turn for Hunt to hit the target.
Wem Town sunk Shropshire rivals Shifnal Town 2-0 after Matt Cohen headed home from a corner before Dave Walbyoff capitalised on an error from Jake James to lob into an empty net.
Paul Jones plundered the only goal when netting from the tightest of angles as Herefordshire side Wellington were 1-0 winners over Smethwick Rangers.
New Cradley Town boss Chris Butts must have thought he was on his way to a winning start when his side went 2-1 up against high flying Haughmond late in the second half. Haughmond had to play the first 20 minutes with 10 men after Joe Perry limped off injured as the Shropshire side’s substitutes were late arriving. But once restored to a full compliment, Haughmond went ahead on 23 minutes when Jack Griffiths headed home from a corner. Cradley clawed their way back to lead 2-1 on 76 minutes thanks to goals from Kieron Day and Danny Danks. Harry Morris levelled matters on 78 minutes before Cradley needlessly conceded a penalty on 86 minutes when Jociley Trindade impeded Morris on the edge of the box and Steve Hole stepped up to convert the resulting penalty.
Pershore Town 88 remain rooted at the bottom after they slumped to a 6-2 defeat at Wednesfield but fellow strugglers Bilston Town Community claimed a precious point with a 2-2 draw at home to Hereford Lads.
